A rural farming outpost that started out as six different ??parent communities,ﾡﾱ residents eventually banded together and incorporated to become Colleyville in 1956. While Colleyville is named for Dr. Lilburn Howard Colley, entire generations of Colleyville citizens have displayed his spirit of hard work, determination and caring for this city. From a few clusters of pioneering families to a close-knit community known for its dairy farms and horse racing track to becoming one of the nation’s premier cities, Colleyville’s population has grown from about 1,500 in 1960 to more than 24,000 today.
