Description
The KnightsBridge FR150 60 Minute Fire Rated Down Light Cover is designed to provide basic protection for non-fire rated downlights. They cover the downlights and in the event of a fire, they seal off the hole and slow down the fire from spreading onto adjoining ceilings.
This hood can be fitted from above or below and is constructed from a woven intumescent material that allows air to circulate and the dissipation of heat without letting fire pass and prevents the terminal block and downlight from overheating.
The fire hood is flexible and light and can be used in plasterboard, suspended or concrete ceilings.
Fire hoods should always be considered when installing downlights that are positioned below a dwelling space or any structural supports, however when installing below attic insulation please ensure a sufficient breathable space is cut out around the downlight & hood to prevent overheating.
